Car Accidents in Texas

Fort Worth, TX - Pedestrian Struck on I30 at Ridgmar DrTexas sees a high number of motor vehicle and pedestrian-related accidents every year. The state’s growing population, heavy traffic, and expansive highway system contribute to the risks faced by both drivers and those on foot. Many pedestrian accidents happen along high-speed roadways, where limited visibility and reaction time can make avoiding a collision difficult.

Here are some common causes of pedestrian accidents in Texas:

  • Low Visibility: Poor lighting or inclement weather can make it harder for drivers to see pedestrians, especially at night.
  • High-Speed Roads: Pedestrians struck on highways or major roadways often suffer severe injuries due to the force of impact.
  • Distracted Driving: Looking at a phone or other distractions can cause drivers to miss seeing pedestrians in time.
  • Improper Lane Changes: Drivers failing to check for pedestrians near disabled vehicles or on the shoulder can cause tragic outcomes.
  • Failure to Move Over: Texas law requires drivers to move over or slow down for vehicles stopped on the side of the road, but not all comply.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a pedestrian accident, it is critical to speak with a Fort Worth car accident attorney immediately. An attorney can help ensure your rights are protected and work to secure the compensation you deserve.
