Fort Worth, TX (October 1, 2025) A deadly house fire claimed the life of a woman and her two dogs and left an elderly man with critical burn injuries on Wednesday, October 1, in Fort Worth.

The fire started around 4:00 a.m. at a home on Lifford Place near Western Hills High School. Flames had already engulfed the house when fire crews arrived. An elderly man managed to escape and called for help outside. Medics airlifted him to a local burn unit, where he remains in critical condition.

Firefighters searched the burning home and pulled a woman out through a window. Despite immediate care, she died at the scene. Two dogs inside the home also did not survive. One firefighter suffered minor burns while battling the fire and later received treatment before being released.
