Arlington, TX (November 6, 2025) – A 76-year-old man, Joseph Osborn, died on Wednesday, November 5, from injuries he sustained after being struck by a construction truck in Arlington.

The crash happened around 7:30 a.m. on Friday, October 31, along the 400 block of West Randol Mill Road. Investigators said Osborn was attempting to cross the street when a westbound construction truck hit him in the roadway. The impact knocked him to the ground, leaving him seriously injured.

Emergency responders arrived within minutes and found him bleeding and unresponsive at the scene. Paramedics provided immediate medical care before transporting him to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Despite several days of treatment, Osborn died from his injuries five days later.

The driver of the truck stopped immediately and cooperated with police. Investigators are reviewing speeding, visibility issues, or driver inattention contributed to the incident. The Arlington Police Department continues to investigate the crash.

We extend our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Joseph Osborn during this difficult time.

Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in Texas

76-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit by Truck on W Randol Mill RdPedestrian deaths remain a serious issue across Texas. In cities like Arlington, high-traffic roadways and fast-moving vehicles make walking especially dangerous. Many fatal crashes happen when drivers fail to yield, drive distracted, or simply don’t see pedestrians until it’s too late.

Most of these crashes occur because of preventable causes such as:

  • Drivers failing to yield the right of way
  • Speeding through crosswalks
  • Distracted or impaired driving
  • Poor visibility during early morning or nighttime hours

When a vehicle strikes a pedestrian, the results are often catastrophic. Victims have no protection from impact, leading to severe trauma, head injuries, and internal damage. In many cases, those injuries prove fatal, leaving families with unimaginable grief and lasting emotional scars.

For families who lose a loved one, the aftermath can be overwhelming. Beyond the pain of loss, they face medical bills, funeral costs, and the sudden absence of financial and emotional support.

Texas law allows families to file a wrongful death claim to seek compensation and accountability from negligent drivers. These claims can cover funeral expenses, medical bills, lost income, emotional suffering, and loss of companionship.

A wrongful death attorney can investigate the crash, preserve key evidence, negotiate with insurers, and fight for the justice your loved one deserves.

At Salam & Associates, we help families across Tarrant County and throughout Texas rebuild their lives after tragic accidents. Our compassionate legal team understands the pain of losing someone you love and works tirelessly to secure accountability and fair compensation.
