Arlington, TX (October 29, 2025) – A 21-year-old man died on Sunday, October 26, after his electric bicycle collided with a pickup truck in Arlington.
Police said the crash happened around 5:00 p.m. along the 2400 block of Southwest Green Oaks Boulevard. A Dodge Ram was turning west out of a parking lot when it struck the rider, identified as Tariq Muhammad.
The impact threw Muhammad from his e-bike. Emergency crews arrived quickly and took him to a nearby hospital. Doctors pronounced him dead around 8:00 p.m.
Investigators confirmed that the truck driver stopped right away, stayed at the scene, and cooperated fully with police. Officers found no signs of speeding or impairment. The driver was not hurt and will not face charges.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Muhammad’s identity and ruled that he died from blunt force trauma. The Arlington Police Department continues to investigate what led to the crash.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Tariq Muhammad.
Fatal Bicycle Accidents in Texas
E-bike accidents are becoming more common on Texas roads. When an e-bike collides with a vehicle, the results can be devastating. Riders have little protection against larger, heavier vehicles, especially at high speeds.
Common causes of fatal bicycle accidents include:
- Driver Inattention: Motorists often fail to see cyclists at intersections or driveways.
- Unsafe Turns: Drivers turning without checking their surroundings can cause deadly collisions.
- Poor Visibility: Low light and bad weather make it harder for drivers to notice cyclists.
- Speeding: Higher speeds reduce reaction time and increase impact force.
Victims of these crashes often suffer catastrophic injuries like traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord damage, multiple fractures, or internal bleeding. Families face sudden grief, financial stress, and the difficult process of seeking justice.
If you lost a loved one in a bicycle accident, you have the right to hold negligent drivers accountable. A brave wrongful death lawyer can help you secure compensation for medical costs, funeral expenses, lost income, and emotional suffering.
