Dallas, TX (October 22, 2025) – On October 20, officials identified Miles Dean Fain, 18, as the victim of a deadly multivehicle crash that occurred earlier this month on the LBJ TEXpress in Dallas.

The fatal crash happened around 9:45 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, in the 3900 block of the westbound LBJ TEXpress, according to Dallas Police. Several vehicles and motorcycles were involved in the collision, which caused heavy damage and blocked multiple lanes of traffic.

Emergency responders arrived quickly to assist the victims and clear the wreckage. Paramedics transported Fain, a recent Coppell High School graduate, to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries shortly before 11:00 p.m.

Officials have not released further details about what led to the deadly collision, but preliminary reports indicate that speed and unsafe lane movements may have contributed. The Dallas Police Department continues to investigate the cause of the crash.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Miles Fain during this tragic time.

Fatal Car Accidents in Texas

Coppell Teen Identified in Fatal Multivehicle Crash on LBJ TEXpressFatal crashes like this one are a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly tragedy can strike on Texas roads. Data from the Texas Department of Public Safety shows that someone loses their life in a motor vehicle collision about every two hours across the state. Many of these deadly wrecks happen on fast-moving highways and tollways, where even a split-second mistake can have devastating results.

Understanding the factors that often make fatal crashes so severe can help families see the dangers:

  • Multiple Vehicles: Chain-reaction collisions increase the risk of severe injuries and slow down rescue efforts.
  • High-Speed Impacts: Freeway crashes often cause catastrophic head trauma and internal injuries that can prove fatal within minutes.
  • Delayed Medical Aid: In large wrecks, traffic backups can slow emergency access, reducing the chance of survival for victims in critical condition.
  • Reckless or Distracted Driving: Drivers who speed, text, or make unsafe lane changes often trigger deadly chain reactions.
  • Ongoing Investigations: Police and crash reconstruction teams carefully review these accidents to determine responsibility and prevent future tragedies.
