Dallas, TX (August 11, 2025) – Late Sunday night, a deadly crash occurred in southern Dallas involving three vehicles. Police responded to the 300 block of South Masters Drive shortly before 11 p.m. on August 10 after receiving reports of a serious collision. Upon arrival, officers found that an SUV traveling south on Masters Drive collided with a car that was turning north onto Old Seagoville Road. The impact caused the driver of the car to be ejected from the vehicle.

Authorities confirmed that the ejected driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Both the SUV and the car spun into the northbound lanes of Masters Drive, where they struck a third vehicle that had been waiting to turn west onto Old Seagoville Road. The driver and passenger in the SUV suffered minor injuries and were treated locally. The person in the third vehicle was not injured.

Police have not released the identity of the deceased, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation. The Texas Department of Public Safety is assisting in reviewing the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the victim.

Car Accidents in Texas

Dallas, TX - Deadly Three-Vehicle Crash on S Masters DrTexas consistently sees a high number of serious roadway incidents each year. The state’s vast highway network, increasing population, and varied driving conditions contribute to these statistics. Many collisions involve multiple vehicles, and in some cases, they result in tragic losses like this one. Understanding risk factors is one way drivers can help reduce future accidents.

Here are some common causes of serious crashes in Texas:

  • Distracted Driving: Activities like texting or adjusting navigation systems can take a driver’s focus off the road and increase the likelihood of a collision.
  • Speeding: Higher speeds make it more difficult to stop in time to avoid hazards, often worsening the severity of crashes.
  • Weather Conditions: Rain, fog, or icy roadways can impair visibility and traction, increasing accident risks.
  • Failure to Yield: Intersections and merging points are frequent sites of crashes when right-of-way rules are not followed.
  • Impaired Driving: Alcohol or drug use can significantly reduce reaction time and impair judgment, making safe driving nearly impossible.
