Hit-and-Run Accidents in Dallas
Hit-and-run accidents are among the most tragic and preventable collisions on Texas roadways. In busy cities like Dallas, hit-and-run drivers cause devastating losses for victims and their families.
These incidents often result in catastrophic or fatal injuries, especially when pedestrians are struck without warning.
Some of the most common causes of drunk driving accidents and hit-and-run crashes include:
- Impaired driving: Alcohol or drugs significantly reduce reaction times and impair judgment.
- Distracted driving: Texting, using navigation systems, or talking on the phone can cause drivers to miss pedestrians in crosswalks or roadways.
- Speeding: Excessive speed shortens reaction times and increases the impact of a collision.
- Driver fatigue: Drowsy drivers often fail to notice pedestrians or other vehicles in time to stop safely.
- Fear of legal consequences: Unlicensed, uninsured, or intoxicated drivers may flee to avoid arrest or penalties.
