Dallas, TX (September 14, 2025) – A fatal crash in the Red Bird area of Dallas left one person dead and four others injured on Sunday morning, September 14.

The collision happened around 2:20 a.m. at the intersection of Farm to Market Road  1382 and West Camp Wisdom Road. A red sedan carrying two adults and two children was heading north when a silver sedan slammed into the back of the car.

The silver sedan burst into flames on impact. Witnesses pulled the male driver from the burning car before first responders arrived. Paramedics rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

Emergency crews also transported the four people from the red sedan to area hospitals. Doctors expect them to recover from their injuries.

Investigators spent several hours at the scene gathering evidence and reviewing the circumstances. Authorities have not yet released the driver’s name.

The investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing.

We extend our deepest condolences to those affected by this tragic loss.

Fatal Car Accidents in Texas

Fatal crashes remain a leading cause of roadway deaths in Texas. In 2023, the Texas Department of Public Safety reported more than 4,000 traffic fatalities statewide. Dallas, with its heavy traffic and major highways, continues to see some of the highest numbers.

These tragedies often stem from preventable causes:

  • Speeding: Driving too fast reduces reaction time and makes crashes more violent.
  • Distracted Driving: Phones, navigation systems, or other distractions cause drivers to miss critical moments.
  • Impaired Driving: Alcohol and drugs remain leading factors in deadly Texas.
  • Fatigue: Late-night driving increases the risk of mistakes, especially on long stretches of road.
  • Failure to Yield: Ignoring stop signs, red lights, or right-of-way rules often leads to severe collisions.

When children are passengers, as in this Dallas crash, the impact is even greater. Families may face long recoveries, financial strain, and lasting emotional trauma in the aftermath of a fatal accident.

While no legal action can undo the loss of life, a wrongful death claim can help families find stability. It can provide compensation for medical bills, funeral expenses, lost income, and the suffering caused by another driver’s negligence.
