DeSoto, TX (November 9, 2025) – A deadly crash on Saturday, November 9, on Interstate 35E claimed one life and left two women critically injured in DeSoto.
The collision happened around 2:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-35E. Investigators said a 26-year-old man lost control of his van, which flipped onto its side and blocked traffic. The driver climbed out of the wrecked vehicle and stood on the highway. A passing vehicle struck him seconds later, killing him instantly.
Two additional vehicles then slammed into the wreckage, scattering debris across multiple lanes. Two women from one of the vehicles suffered life-threatening injuries. Paramedics transported both victims to a nearby hospital for emergency care.
Officers shut down multiple lanes for several hours while they cleared the scene and collected evidence. Investigators continue to examine what caused the initial rollover and the chain-reaction crash that followed.
We extend our deepest condolences to the family of the man who died in this tragic accident. Our hearts are also with those injured, and we wish them a full and swift recovery

Dallas County consistently ranks among the areas with the highest number of deadly collisions due to its heavy traffic and high-speed roadways like I-35E and I-20.
Many of these fatal crashes happen when drivers lose focus, speed excessively, or fail to react quickly enough to changing traffic conditions. In just a split second, a small mistake can cause a chain-reaction collision that leaves lasting devastation for multiple families.
