DeSoto, TX (October 30, 2025) – Several people sustained injuries on Wednesday afternoon, October 29, in a two-vehicle crash near South Westmoreland Road in DeSoto.

Emergency crews arrived around 1:12 p.m. after reports of a violent collision involving a white Lincoln Navigator and a black two-door sedan. Witnesses said one of the vehicles appeared to lose control before slamming into the other near the busy intersection. The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles. Paramedics treated the injured at the scene before transporting multiple victims to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Authorities closed part of the roadway for several hours while they cleared debris and investigated what led to the crash. Officers are gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses to determine how the collision happened. The investigation is ongoing.

We wish everyone injured in this crash a full and swift recovery.

Car Accidents in Texas

Several Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on S Westmoreland RdSerious car crashes like this one are becoming more common across Texas. With millions of drivers on the road and some of the busiest highways in the nation, Texas consistently records one of the highest numbers of traffic crashes each year.

Many of these crashes occur because of preventable behavior. Speeding, tailgating, and distracted driving remain leading causes of severe and fatal collisions. Other common factors include driver fatigue, aggressive driving, and failure to yield at intersections. Even a split-second mistake can cause a devastating crash that changes lives forever.

The injuries that follow are often catastrophic. Victims may suffer broken bones, spinal cord injuries, internal bleeding, or traumatic brain injuries. Recovery can take months or years, with costly medical bills, lost income, and emotional trauma affecting entire families. The physical and financial strain can make it difficult to move forward without professional help.

If you were hurt in a crash caused by a negligent driver, you may be entitled to compensation for:

  • Medical Expenses: This includes hospital care, surgeries, medications, and ongoing treatment.
  • Lost Wages: You may receive compensation for income lost while recovering.
  • Pain and Suffering: This covers the physical pain, emotional distress, and reduced quality of life caused by the crash.
  • Property Damage: You can recover the costs of repairing or replacing your vehicle.

Insurance companies often try to settle quickly for less than what victims truly deserve. A seasoned car accident lawyer can protect your rights, handle negotiations, and make sure you receive full compensation for your losses.
