The investigation is ongoing. Our thoughts go out to all the victims and families affected by this devastating accident. We wish them a full and speedy recovery.
Truck Accidents in Texas
Crashes involving semi-trucks are among the most catastrophic on Texas highways. Because of their massive size and weight, an 18-wheeler can cause devastating damage in a matter of seconds.
The Texas Department of Public Safety reports that someone is injured in a traffic crash every two minutes across the state, and truck collisions account for a significant portion of those numbers.
Victims of semi-truck crashes often face catastrophic injuries, including:
- Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI): A sudden blow to the head may cause a concussion, memory loss, or permanent brain damage.
- Spinal Cord Injuries: High-speed impacts can lead to partial or complete paralysis.
- Internal Organ Damage: Even seat belts and airbags can cause blunt force trauma to vital organs.
- Broken Bones: Arms, legs, ribs, and hips are especially vulnerable in multi-vehicle wrecks.
- Emotional and Psychological Trauma: Survivors frequently struggle with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression after a violent crash.
Truck accident cases are complex and involve multiple parties, from trucking companies to insurers. You should never try to handle them alone.
