Car Accidents in Texas
Motor vehicle crashes remain one of the leading causes of injuries in Texas. Data from the Texas Department of Public Safety shows thousands of injury-related accidents occur each month across the state. Neck injuries are particularly common in rear-end and side-impact collisions, and may lead to lasting complications if not treated promptly.
If you’ve been injured in a crash, it’s helpful to understand what actions can protect your health and your rights. Here are some key issues related to car accidents:
- Neck and Spine Injuries: Even a seemingly minor crash can result in whiplash, herniated discs, or nerve damage. These injuries may not be immediately obvious but can develop into chronic pain without proper care.
- Delayed Symptoms: Many accident victims don’t feel the full extent of their injuries right away. It’s crucial to seek medical attention after any crash, even if symptoms are mild at first.
- Medical Documentation: Keeping a detailed record of treatment and symptoms helps support your case if you choose to pursue a claim. It also ensures your care team understands your progress and ongoing needs.
- Insurance Disputes: Insurance companies often attempt to minimize compensation or deny coverage for medical treatment. Having documentation and legal support can help protect your rights during negotiations.
- Long-Term Impact: Neck injuries can affect your ability to work, sleep, and perform daily tasks. Understanding the full scope of the injury helps determine appropriate compensation for your recovery.
