Fort Worth, TX (July 5, 2025) – A multi-vehicle accident late Friday night caused major disruptions in Fort Worth when a vehicle careened off the main lanes of Interstate 35 West, crossed the bar ditch, and slammed into a building along the service road just north of Risinger Road. The crash occurred at around 11:05 p.m. on July 4 and involved multiple vehicles traveling northbound on Interstate 35 West.

Emergency crews from Fort Worth Police, the Fire Department, and EMS arrived quickly to find significant damage to the building’s front facade, along with extensive debris scattered across the roadway and ditch. All northbound lanes of Interstate 35 West were shut down at Risinger Road as first responders worked diligently to secure the area and assist the injured.

Authorities confirmed that at least one person was hurt in this crash and was transported by paramedics to a local hospital for additional medical care. The road closure led to major delays through the night, and drivers were urged to find alternate routes until the scene could be cleared and deemed safe. The Texas Department of Public Safety is expected to support the local investigation into what caused the driver to leave the main road and strike the building.

At this time, Fort Worth Police continue to investigate all contributing factors, including speed, driver impairment, or other circumstances that may have led to the incident. The area surrounding Risinger Road was reopened once cleanup and inspection were complete, but further structural evaluations of the building will be conducted.

We hope those injured in this accident recover quickly.

Car Accidents in Texas

Fort Worth, TX - Vehicle Crashes Into Building Along I35W Service RdMotor vehicle accidents are a daily concern for Texans traveling across our busy highways and local roads. Recent data shows that Texas leads the nation in the total number of car accidents each year. With millions of drivers sharing the roads, crashes can happen at any time, often leaving victims with serious injuries or worse. State authorities continue to encourage safe driving practices to help reduce the frequency and severity of these tragic events.

Understanding the dangers behind the wheel is important, so here are some factors that contribute to accidents in Texas:

  • High-Speed Crashes: Traveling at excessive speeds remains one of the most common factors in serious Texas collisions. High speeds reduce reaction times and increase the severity of impact, often resulting in life-threatening injuries.
  • Distracted Driving: Using phones, adjusting the radio, or other distractions can pull a driver’s focus from the road in critical moments. Distraction-related crashes frequently leave victims facing long recoveries and costly medical bills.
  • Drunk Driving Incidents: Impaired driving continues to be a serious problem. Alcohol or drug use behind the wheel puts everyone on the road at risk and often leads to devastating outcomes for innocent victims.
  • Fatigued Driving: Many drivers underestimate the danger of drowsy driving. Falling asleep or losing focus while driving can be just as dangerous as driving under the influence. Long stretches of highway travel at night can contribute to fatigue-related wrecks.
  • Weather Conditions: Texas weather can be unpredictable, with sudden storms or icy roads creating hazardous driving conditions. Drivers must adjust their speed and attention to navigate safely during bad weather.
