Garland, TX (August 13, 2025) – An early morning crash in Garland on August 13 has left one person dead and another injured. Just after 2:30 a.m., authorities responded to a serious car accident at the intersection of Garland Avenue and Kingsley Road. According to investigators, an SUV suspected of speeding northbound on Garland Avenue slammed into another vehicle in the intersection.
The driver of the second vehicle did not survive the impact. The Garland Police Department has since arrested the SUV driver, who is suspected of being intoxicated at the time of the crash. He is currently facing charges of Intoxication Manslaughter.
A passenger in the SUV was also hurt in the accident and taken to a local hospital for treatment. Officials noted the injuries were not considered life-threatening. The crash led to a temporary closure of the intersection while investigators with the Texas Department of Public Safety worked the scene. All lanes were reopened to traffic by 10:30 a.m.
