Granbury, TX (July 1, 2025) – A severe motor vehicle accident shut down a portion of Paluxy Road yesterday afternoon and left several people seriously injured. Around 2:35 p.m. on June 30, Granbury Police and Fire crews, along with Texas EMS, were dispatched to the 1700 block of Paluxy Road in front of the local medical center after reports of a major crash.

Officials confirmed that a pickup truck and a sedan were involved in a T-bone collision. The impact left the sedan with significant damage and multiple occupants trapped inside. Responding emergency crews worked quickly to extricate the victims and provide critical care at the scene. Due to the severity of the injuries, three medical helicopters, two CareFlite and one Air Evac, were called in to airlift three victims to area trauma centers. Another injured person was transported by ground ambulance for further treatment.

The stretch of Paluxy Road where the accident occurred remained closed for several hours as authorities investigated and cleared the scene. Drivers were urged to avoid the area and find alternate routes to prevent further delays. The Texas Department of Public Safety and Granbury Police continue to investigate what may have caused this devastating T-bone crash.

Our thoughts are with everyone injured in this tragic accident, and we hope for a full and quick recovery for all victims.

Car Accidents in Texas

Granbury, TX - Serious T-Bone Crash on Paluxy Rd Leaves Multiple InjuredMotor vehicle accidents remain a serious concern across Texas, with thousands of crashes resulting in severe injuries or fatalities each year. According to the Texas Department of Transportation, T-bone collisions are among the most dangerous types of crashes, often occurring at intersections or driveways where drivers fail to yield or misjudge oncoming traffic. In communities like Granbury, staying alert and following traffic laws can help reduce these tragic incidents.

Understanding common injuries from T-bone crashes can help victims recognize the seriousness of their situation. Here are frequent injuries people suffer in side-impact collisions:

  • Head and Brain Injuries: Victims may strike their heads against windows or headrests, leading to concussions or traumatic brain injuries. These injuries often require extensive medical care and long-term rehabilitation.

  • Chest and Rib Injuries: The force of impact can cause rib fractures or internal organ damage, especially on the side of the vehicle that was hit. This can lead to complications that demand emergency surgery.

  • Pelvic and Hip Injuries: Side collisions can crush the lower body, resulting in fractures to the pelvis or hips. These injuries are extremely painful and can limit mobility for months or years.

  • Spinal Cord Injuries: T-bone crashes can twist or compress the spine, causing serious back injuries that may result in partial paralysis or chronic pain.

  • Cuts and Lacerations: Shattered glass and sharp metal can cause deep cuts and scarring, which may require stitches or reconstructive surgery.
