Bicycle Accidents in Texas
Cyclists face serious risks every time they share the road with larger vehicles. Even a moment of inattention from a driver can lead to life-changing harm. In growing cities like Plano, bicycle-related crashes remain a serious safety concern.
Many bicycle accidents in Texas happen when drivers fail to yield, open car doors into bike lanes, or make unsafe turns at intersections. Limited visibility and the lack of protected bike lanes also raise the chances of collisions. In many cases, drivers don’t notice cyclists until the impact is unavoidable.
Bicycle crashes often leave victims with severe head trauma, broken bones, or spinal injuries that can take months to heal. Some cyclists experience lasting brain damage or mobility loss that changes their daily lives forever. Beyond the physical pain, many also face emotional trauma and the financial burden of ongoing medical care.
Texas law allows injured cyclists to seek compensation for:
- Medical treatment and rehabilitation costs
- Lost income and reduced earning ability
- Physical pain and emotional suffering
- Property damage to bicycles or gear
Insurance companies often downplay the severity of bicycle accidents or delay claims. Working with a knowledgeable bicycle accident lawyer helps ensure that your case is taken seriously and that you receive the full compensation you deserve.
