Plano, TX (December 10, 2025) – A serious crash involving an 18-wheeler and two smaller vehicles left one person injured on Wednesday morning, December 10, in Plano. The collision happened around 6:25 a.m. along the southbound service road near Legacy Drive.
Emergency crews arrived within minutes and found a gray sedan, a Lincoln MKX, and a large truck heavily damaged. Paramedics treated one person for cuts, while firefighters cleared debris from the road. Officers directed traffic and kept the area safe for other morning commuters.
Investigators with the Plano Police Department examined the vehicles, took photos, and interviewed witnesses to understand how the crash happened. Tow trucks later removed the wrecked vehicles once the roadway was cleared. The Plano Police Department continues to investigate.
We hope everyone injured in this crash makes a full and steady recovery.
Truck Accidents in Texas
Texas highways and city roads see thousands of large trucks every day. These 18-wheelers are essential to the state’s economy, but their massive size and weight make them especially dangerous in a collision. When a truck crashes into a smaller vehicle, the impact can cause devastating or life-changing injuries.
Neck and back injuries are among the most common after a truck crash because the sudden force can strain muscles or damage the spine. Victims may also suffer concussions or traumatic brain injuries if their head hits a hard surface inside the vehicle. Cuts from broken glass, bruising from seat belts, and chest pain from airbag deployment are also frequent and can worsen hours later.
Truck accidents in Texas often occur due to the following:
- Driver Fatigue: Long hours behind the wheel cause exhaustion and slower reaction times.
- Mechanical or Brake Failure: Poor maintenance or worn-out parts can lead to sudden equipment failure.
- Blind Spots: Smaller vehicles beside or behind a truck may not be visible to the driver.
- Improper Loading: Unbalanced or unsecured cargo can make trucks unstable and prone to rollovers.
- Following Too Closely: Large trucks require more time and distance to stop safely.
Each of these factors can increase the risk of losing control and causing serious crashes. Victims should always seek immediate medical attention and keep detailed records of every treatment, scan, and report. These records help protect both their health and their legal rights.
After a truck crash, victims should never deal with insurance companies on their own. Adjusters often reach out quickly and offer low settlements before the full extent of recovery is known. An experienced truck accident lawyer can protect your rights and fight to secure full compensation for your medical treatment, lost wages, pain and suffering, and rehabilitation costs.
