We hope those injured in this accident recover quickly.

Car Accidents in Texas

Prosper, TX - Rollover Crash on Hwy 380 at Gee Rd Leaves InjuriesTexas experiences a high volume of vehicle crashes each year. According to the Texas Department of Transportation, one person was injured every 2 minutes and 9 seconds in a crash across the state in 2023. Thousands of these collisions involve rollovers, which often result in severe injuries due to the violent motion and vehicle instability involved.

To better understand how serious these crashes can be, here are a few key factors surrounding rollover collisions in Texas:

  • Speeding and Reckless Driving: High speeds increase the likelihood of rollovers, especially during sharp turns or swerves. Drivers who fail to adjust speed in areas like intersections or curves face a much greater risk of losing control.
  • SUVs and Top-Heavy Vehicles: Vehicles with a higher center of gravity, such as trucks and SUVs, are more prone to rolling over in an accident. Drivers should take extra care, particularly when roads are uneven or slick.
  • Road Conditions: Loose gravel, uneven pavement, or sudden changes in terrain can all lead to a rollover if a vehicle’s tires lose grip. Wet weather also contributes to instability, particularly at night when visibility is reduced.
  • Distracted or Impaired Driving: Texting, phone use, or intoxication can lead to delayed reactions and swerving, increasing the chance of a vehicle tipping during an evasive maneuver.
  • Lack of Proper Restraints: Not wearing a seatbelt in a rollover increases the chance of serious or fatal injuries. Seatbelts are critical to keeping occupants safe inside the vehicle during a crash.
