Officials have not yet released the identities or conditions of the victims.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Officers temporarily restricted traffic in the area while they examined evidence and worked to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash. No arrests or citations have been reported at this time.

The Dallas Police Department continues to investigate the cause of this tragic collision.

Our thoughts are with the injured adults and child, and we hope for their full and swift recovery.

Pedestrian Accidents in Dallas

Pedestrian crashes in Dallas are becoming increasingly common, especially near busy intersections and urban streets. With more vehicles, faster speeds, and distracted driving, pedestrians remain among the most vulnerable people on the road. These accidents can lead to severe injuries, including broken bones, internal bleeding, and traumatic brain injuries. Children, in particular, face a higher risk due to their smaller size and reduced visibility to drivers.

Pedestrian accidents often occur because of:

  • Driver distraction: Phone use, GPS adjustments, or eating while driving reduce attention.
  • Failure to yield: Many pedestrian crashes happen when drivers ignore crosswalk rules.
  • Speeding: High speeds make it harder to stop in time to avoid hitting someone.
  • Low visibility: Poor lighting and weather conditions often play a role in nighttime accidents.
  • Impaired driving: Alcohol or drug use slows reaction times and affects judgment.

Victims of pedestrian accidents may face lifelong medical challenges and emotional trauma. Through a personal injury claim, they may be entitled to compensation for medical bills, lost income, pain and suffering, and long-term rehabilitation needs. Families of injured children may also recover costs associated with ongoing therapy or special accommodations.

Seeking legal help early is crucial to building a strong case. An experienced personal injury attorney can investigate the crash, gather witness statements, review surveillance footage, and negotiate with insurance companies to ensure fair compensation for victims and their families.
