Pedestrian Accidents in Texas

Pedestrian Airlifted After Crash on US 54 & 601Pedestrian accidents in Texas often result in devastating injuries because people on foot have no protection from moving vehicles. Busy roadways like U.S. 54 and 601 in El Paso are especially dangerous, with high traffic volumes and limited safe crossings. A single mistake or moment of distraction can have life-altering consequences.

The most common causes of pedestrian accidents include:

  • Low Visibility: Darkness or poor lighting makes pedestrians harder to see.
  • Distracted Driving: Looking at a phone or GPS can delay a driver’s reaction to someone ahead.
  • Speeding: Higher speeds reduce stopping distance and increase the force of impact.
  • Failure to Yield: Ignoring pedestrian right-of-way at intersections remains a common problem.
  • Impaired Driving: Alcohol or drugs reduce awareness and slow a driver’s reaction time.

Pedestrian crashes often lead to head injuries, spinal trauma, broken bones, and internal damage that require long hospital stays and months of recovery. Victims and their families frequently face overwhelming medical bills, pain, and emotional strain during this difficult time.

If you or someone you love was hit by a vehicle, seek medical care right away and speak with an experienced pedestrian accident lawyer. An attorney can gather crucial evidence, handle insurance negotiations, and fight for fair compensation for your injuries, lost wages, and pain.
