Fort Worth, TX (August 15, 2025) – A frightening two-vehicle accident brought emergency crews to the intersection of West Belknap Street and North Burnett Avenue in Fort Worth early Thursday morning, August 14.
On August 14, just after 8:15 a.m., a gray Honda Fit sedan and a black Ford F-250 pickup truck collided in a violent crash that ended with the pickup truck resting on top of the smaller car. The impact caused major damage, leaving the sedan nearly crushed underneath the weight of the truck.
First responders from the Fort Worth Police Department and emergency medical services arrived within minutes of the crash. Paramedics provided on-site care to at least one person before transporting them to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Traffic in the area was redirected as authorities worked to clear the wreckage and begin their investigation.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is expected to assist with the investigation to determine the sequence of events leading up to the accident. The intersection remained partially closed for a time while crews towed the involved vehicles and cleared debris from the roadway.
We hope those injured in this accident recover swiftly.
Car Accidents in Texas
Each year, thousands of Texans are involved in serious motor vehicle accidents across the state. In 2023 alone, the Texas Department of Transportation recorded more than 244,000 injury crashes on Texas roads. Many of these collisions happen at intersections or involve larger vehicles, like trucks, increasing the risk of severe injuries. Recovering from these accidents often requires time, medical attention, and legal guidance.
If you’ve been involved in a crash like this, knowing what steps to take can make a difference. Here are a few key things to understand:
- Crush Injuries: When a smaller vehicle is pinned under a larger one, the occupants can suffer crush injuries. These are especially dangerous and may involve broken bones, internal bleeding, or limb damage requiring surgery and prolonged rehabilitation.
- Airbag Deployment Injuries: While airbags save lives, their force can cause burns, bruises, or even fractures. Victims often experience facial trauma or chest injuries when airbags deploy during high-impact crashes.
- Seatbelt Trauma: Though seatbelts reduce fatalities, they can cause rib fractures, abdominal injuries, or bruising during serious accidents. These injuries may not appear immediately and often require imaging to diagnose.
- Psychological Effects: Car accidents don’t just result in physical trauma. Victims may deal with anxiety, depression, or PTSD, especially after severe collisions. Therapy or counseling may be necessary for recovery.
- Recovery Costs: Medical bills, lost income, and ongoing therapy can create financial pressure. A personal injury claim can help victims recover compensation to ease these burdens.
If you or someone you care about has been injured in a crash, it’s crucial to reach out to a Fort Worth car accident attorney as soon as possible. Acting quickly allows your attorney to gather evidence, speak to witnesses, and negotiate with insurance companies. Delays can impact your ability to receive fair compensation for your injuries and losses.
