Dallas, TX (August 27, 2025) – A devastating crash in southern Dallas claimed two lives on Monday night, August 25, leaving a community in mourning.
The accident occurred shortly after 9:00 p.m. on August 25 in the 300 block of East Ledbetter Drive, according to the Dallas Police Department. Investigators say the driver of a Nissan Maxima lost control, swerved off the road, and struck a pedestrian walking on the sidewalk. The vehicle then collided with a light pole, causing extensive damage.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and provided aid to both individuals. The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Firefighters worked to free the driver from the wreckage. Despite their efforts, he died at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims.
