According to El Paso Fire officials, the call came in around 11:04 a.m. Crews arrived quickly at the scene along Sunland Park Drive, near The Shoppes at Solana, where they found one individual injured. Paramedics transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not yet shared details about the driver or the vehicle involved.
Police continue to investigate and search for the suspect who fled the scene.
We hope for the injured person’s full and speedy recovery.
Hit-and-Run Accidents in El Paso
Hit-and-run accidents pose a serious risk to drivers, pedestrians, and passengers across El Paso. When a driver flees the scene instead of helping, victims often face even greater challenges. Injured individuals may be left with rising medical bills, lost income, and emotional trauma while law enforcement searches for the at-fault driver.
Victims of hit-and-run crashes often suffer injuries such as:
- Broken bones and fractures that require extensive recovery time.
- Head injuries or concussions caused by sudden impacts.
- Internal injuries that may not show symptoms right away.
- Cuts, bruises, and other trauma that can leave lasting effects.
These injuries can significantly disrupt everyday life. Victims may need hospital care, rehabilitation, and time away from work, leading to financial strain on top of physical and emotional pain.
When the at-fault driver cannot be identified immediately, victims may still have options to pursue compensation. Uninsured motorist coverage in an insurance policy can help cover medical costs and other damages in hit-and-run cases. However, insurance companies may attempt to limit payouts, making the claims process difficult without legal support.
Working with a trained personal injury lawyer ensures victims understand their rights and have someone advocating for their best interests. An attorney can gather police reports, review medical documentation, and communicate with insurance providers to secure the maximum recovery possible. If authorities later identify the driver responsible, legal action may also hold that individual accountable.
