DeSoto, TX (November 12, 2025) – On Tuesday, November 11, the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office identified 26-year-old Jesus Huerta Luevano as the man killed in a violent four-vehicle crash on Interstate 35E in DeSoto.

The deadly crash happened around 2:40 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, in the 1400 block of North I-35E, according to the DeSoto Police Department. Officers arrived to find several heavily damaged vehicles and debris scattered across multiple lanes.

Investigators said Luevano lost control of his van, causing it to roll onto its side. He managed to climb out of the wreckage and onto the highway, where another vehicle struck him moments later, killing him instantly.

A third and fourth vehicle then crashed into the overturned van and the second car. Two women in the third vehicle suffered life-threatening injuries, and paramedics rushed them to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

Police shut down the interstate for several hours as investigators documented evidence and crews cleared the wreckage. The DeSoto Police Department continues to investigate the cause of the crash.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family of Jesus Huerta Luevano. Our hearts are also with those who suffered injuries, and we wish them a full and swift recovery.

Fatal Multi-Vehicle Accidents in Texas

Man Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-35E IdentifiedTexas sees a high number of multi-vehicle crashes every year, especially in busy areas like Desoto. With thousands of cars and trucks traveling daily on major highways, one driver’s mistake can cause a serious chain reaction involving several vehicles. According to state data, hundreds of people lose their lives each year in multi-vehicle collisions across Texas.

Common causes of these tragic crashes include distracted driving, speeding, tailgating, and fatigue. Drivers who look away from the road, drive too fast for conditions, or fail to maintain a safe distance increase the risk of catastrophic pileups. When multiple vehicles collide, the impact intensifies with each crash, often leading to severe or fatal injuries.

Losing a loved one in such a crash is devastating. Families face emotional pain, unanswered questions, and sudden financial burdens. The loss of income, funeral expenses, and medical costs can make it difficult to recover and move forward.

Under Texas law, families of victims may have the right to pursue compensation through a wrongful death claim. These claims can help recover damages for medical bills, funeral costs, lost financial support, and emotional suffering. An experienced wrongful death lawyer can help families seek justice and hold negligent drivers accountable.
